About Us
The IFSC Climbing World Cup 2025 is organised and carried out by Austria Climbing / Kletterverband Österreich (KVÖ). The official organiser is the Austria Climbing Event GmbH, a fully owned subsidiary of the Austrian Climbing Federation.
The Austrian Climbing Federation was founded in 2005 and is the nationally and internationally recognised professional association for climbing as a competitive sport in Austria. As such, it is responsible for competition-oriented climbing sports in the disciplines of bouldering, lead, speed, boulder & lead (Olympic format) and paraclimbing. The KVÖ is a member of Sport Austria and is one of the Olympic summer sports federations. At the international level, the KVÖ is a member of the International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC).
The KVÖ unites under its umbrella the regional associations of Austria with their member clubs and thus has approx. 80,000 members throughout Austria.
The organisation of international competitions in Austria has a long tradition and is an important part of the overall strategy of the KVÖ. It is very important to us to welcome the international climbing elite regularly to competitions of the highest level in Austria and to share the fascination of climbing and the success of the athletes with society. By organising professional events, the unique setting at the Kletterzentrum Innsbruck (KI) in Innsbruck - Tirol and the broadcasting of these images to the whole world, we carry the enthusiasm for climbing far beyond the borders of Austria.
